About Adok
Born in Vienna, Austria in October 1983, I got my first computer, a Commodore 64, a week before entering school in 1989. Not only did I enjoy playing computer games but I also read gaming magazines and made sketches of my own games. In 1992 I started teaching myself to program. My first programming language was BASIC. C and x86 Assembler followed suit.
Socialization in the Computer Arts Community
My first article appeared in the German SEGA Magazin in 1994. In 1995 I became a regular contributor to the PC-Heimwerker magazine. From other authors I learned about the computer arts community, also known as the demoscene. I was told that the best programmers of all are the ones who are active in this community. In 1998 I participated in a programming contest held by a demoscene magazine and placed first - my entry was the smallest executable of all. Thus I had proven that I was also a very good programmer. The values of the demoscene influenced my way of thinking very much, for example that you must not use other people's works without crediting them.
My first profession: Magazine Editor
In 1996 I co-founded the Hugi Magazine and became one of its editors. This was basically my first profession. Although it was not paid, I took it very seriously and invested about twenty hours per week. I released 38 regular and several special editions of Hugi until 2014. We had several thousand regular readers and ranked first many times in diskmag charts.
My second profession: Software Engineer
In 2014 I became a software engineer. I have mainly been working with C#. What I enjoy most about this profession is when I have to develop new algorithms to solve problems. Among other things I have developed a mesh voxelizer for importing 3D data from CAD files. In my spare time I created several computer games including the Mega Force series of turn-based, tactical role-playing games.
My hobby: Science and Metaphysics
Effectively science turned out to be a hobby for me. In 2015 I founded the website 21st Century Headlines where I post links to articles about artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biomedical sciences, chemistry and physics almost every day. I also co-published a couple of research articles myself together with my late friend and mentor Dr. Uwe Rohr. Unfortunately he passed away in 2016. In 2018, I generalized his ideas and formulated the Symbiont Conversion Theory.
In 2018 I also wrote the article "The Synthesis of Metaphysics and Jungian Personality Theory", which I am especially proud of.
What the future will hold
Probably I will remain a software engineer until I reach the age of retirement. What I will do then, only the stars know.
